    Understand Your Risk Factors

While some risk factors for heart disease, such as age and family history, can’t be changed, many others can. HER Heart helps you understand what puts you at risk and how to manage it.

Common risk factors for all women include:

    • High blood pressure or cholesterol
    • Diabetes or insulin resistance
    • Obesity
    • Smoking

Know the Signs—Even the Subtle Ones

Many women don’t experience classic symptoms of heart disease like crushing chest pain. Instead, signs can be much more subtle, making them easier to miss.

    Pay attention to:

    • Fatigue or overwhelming exhaustion
    • Nausea, indigestion, or stomach pain
    • Dizziness or lightheadedness
    • Heart palpitations
